Hi All the pub meet tomorrow evening 7-7.15 who will be attending? I have the polo shirts for the Scotland Cruise and it would be good to see you all there for a shandy and a natter about the club and gazebo's and tings.

I'll be there. As you know, I'm finally biting the bullet, and getting bike carbs fitted next week at Chester Sportscars /AB. The car is misfiring/stuttering/stopping, and it's the carbs. So I'll come for a giggle and natter.

No problem Rick.. This car has become a money pit. So far, the work has been : new battery / complete new brakes, inc master cylinder, drilled and grooved front discs, rear disc conversion, green stuff pads / remote change / R1 silencer / rear axle / rear shockers / steering wheel, boss, and quick release / oil pressure , fuel, and temperature gauges / oil catch tank / front flaps / headlamps / cigar lighter / wheels refurbished in black / Toyo tyres / JK composite seats / seat belts / new short sump / sump guard / complete respray / Brooklands aeroscreens / cambelt and tensioner / hitorque starter motor / gear lever extension / complete ignition to include Burton distributor, new coil and plugs, etc.
So...with it still being difficult to start, and then cutting out / backfiring, I have checked and it can now only be the carbs...so with new bike carbs and a rollingroad session, it should finally prove to be a reliable bloody thing. It looks good, but it needs to GO well now too. If only so I can get a few years' enjoyment for all the money and effort sunk into it so far......and I still have to refit my seats, change the mirrors, fit exhaust wrap, and a guard for the cambelt before Scotland. It's been a long haul, and the club members probably think I'm kidding them that I have a car at all....18 months it's taken so far. I intend to wring every day and evening of fun out of it I possibly can afterwards. Just not in the rain.
You, of course, enjoy the benefit of a new build. I bought a pup, and found out the hard way....
