I have just noticed that I have a slight leak of brake fluid from the master cylinder. It seems to be coming out of where the piston moves in and out. It it possible to renew the piston part ? does it just screw into the body of the master cylinder ? am I likely to have a catastrophic fail and all the fluid leakes out ? I cant remember if I have seen it without the piston in, does it have a type of seal on the piston ? Regards Mike

Hi Mike. used to be able to get a 'service kit' from the likes of Rollins but when I looked at one for a Focus it wasn't much cheaper than a new master cylinder

Tony. I think that the master cylinder is for a Sierra but somewhere in the back of my mind I think that the piston is a Tiger part. I will speak to Tiger tomorrow as CSC are not available at the moment. Mike

As tony said at one time you could buy a repair kit, but its probably cheaper to buy a new master cylinder these days.
