Well not really , I made a new cable up from battery to switch and cleaned up the lugs and still not turning how it should be so put main cable to starter onto battery again and still not good . I will have to check my earth leads ,connections now and see if they are ok .
Cheers Graham

sorry to hear it's not sorted yet Graham, but hope you get it done soon as the "Tinkering season" is almost over you only have a couple of day's left before the official "Driving season" begins, although this doe's not apply to Clive/Sue as they only have a "Driving season" ;D
Why not give Chester Sportscars a ring they are very helpfull with this sort of thing.

Hi Graham, I have heard of earth problems with pinto starters some guys put a seperate earth strap on the starter motor rather than relying on the engine/gearbox earth

Hi Tony , you know what , thats just what I ,ve just done . Took off the earth cables just behind the water header tank ,they were ok , I had a cable going down to the engine mount ,that looked ok so I have put a cable from one of the mounting bolts of the starter and run it to the battery . engine turns over really good now and the voltmeter stays at 11-12 v now . I have got a pair of new mirrors from CBS and I'm mounting them on the scuttle so when I get my aeroscreen and want to swap over it will be easier to change .
