Got the carbs fitted today , put fuel pressure to the carbs to see if I had any leaks ,well I need o rings for the float chambers , looks like the rubber has gone hard and can't seal .
Air filter will be a problem too I think might have to cut the bonnet out a bit more ;D

Hi Graham, are you going to have any room left on your bonnet to cut another hole, are you going to have it ready for w/end for if the weather changes for the better.Just changed one of my engine mounting brackets it had split across the plate on top of the bush, the new one, the plate is nearly twice as thick,so now thinking may change the other side.otherwise running good.Clive

Finally put the carbs together and on the car ,I have used 145 main jets and set the needle to the middle groove . I balanced the carbs to each other and set tick over mixture and speed , all seems to be working at last . Just need to make a back plate for my air filter and then work out how to cut the bonnet around the filter Graham

Start small and work the hole big enough very slowly ;D Sounds like you've had a mare !

Yes , my quick swap over turned into a drag on with all the bits and parts I needed . Should I try and grind the hole bigger ? Instead of sawing it .

Been busy today , got backplate made and fitted and made a start on cutting bonnet to fit over filter . I have put it upside down because the 3 bolt up tags are too big for the bonnet . It does stick out a bit but can't do anything about that Graham

Hi Neil , yes I might do that . Finished the bonnet off today and went for a spin , seems to pull alot crisper but it was a little rich too . Came home and moved the needles up 1 groove ( 5 grooves on the needle ) and went back out .This change made it better when cruising . Just need to get it MOTed this Fri ( hope its dry ) . Graham
