Hi Guys, i took the tiger to Northampton Motorsports yesterday (i was lucky going only hit one samll shower, not so lucky on the way home got bl**dy soaked) to get all the suspension setup via corner weighting and also get the geometry setup via four wheel alignment. I also booked a session on the rolling road to see what power it is outputting, as when i bought the complete kit i was told the the 2.0 zetec with the alpha throttle bodys and ecu would achieve 170bhp. The suspension and geometry setup took a long time to get right due to the usual tiger tolerances but got there in the end. Onto the rolling road session and done the first power run, i was what you could call disapointed, it was only achieving 148bhp and not the 170 i was expecting. After a chat with Troy the guy running the rolling road said with a couple of hours tweeking and a slight change to the cam timing we should be able to achieve around the 170`s somewhere. So after changing cam timing and a couple of hrs on the RR remapping he got it to 175bhp, below is the before and after graph. The guys at Northampton were great and thanks to Troy for staying late to get the mapping finished

Could defineately notice a difference on the way home well at least when i could find some dry patches to put my foot down ;D. Need to look at changing the tyres next, the pirellis are quite frightening in the wet even when you are being very carefull with the right foot, what is everyone using tyre wise?

To a certain extent it doesn't matter what tyres you have, in the wet anything is pretty lethal with the power we have going through the back wheels you just have to be careful. id like some Toyo triple 8s as you know.

Well i took the car for a drive this afternoon and am not very happy the tickover is now quite erratic and very lumpy and also when i go over a bump the backend which is setup quite hard comes off the floor, while its off the floor with no load the shocks are bottoming out (or topping out) basically it bangs every time due to reaching its full extended length, when parked up if push down on the rear and let go you can hear it banging when it comes back up if you know what i mean. I tried softening the shock up via the click wheel but it makes no difference, its like it needs pressure winding off the spring, if i do this then thats the corner weighting bu**ered up. I will give NMS a call in the morning and see what they suggest.

Mine has new Toyo T1R 195/50/15 . My last RR setup gave me 113 at the wheels but a load of torque because of the cam in it .

Hi Clive, sort of got it sorted, with the ride height and the corner weighting done the back shocks were topping out (knocking due to being fully expanded) when going over a bump, basically i need slightly longer shocks on the rear to accommodate the setup. NMS say that the rake of the car should be higher at the back than the front as normal for all cars, but i cant lower the front anymore due to the era sump clearance. so i removed one of the rears and sent the measurements to NMS they are looking to see if they can get me slightly longer ones. I have lowered the rears so they dont top out anymore, if NMS can get me longer ones i will take it back and get it resetup with the longer rear shocks on.
As to the eratic tickover i have just disconnected the lambda sensor for now as this alters the fuel / air settings on tickover to get the emissions correct, it is a lot smoother now, when i take it back to NMS to get the shocks done they will also sort the eratic tickover out with the sensor plugged in.
