Hi all....just bought myself a second (at least!) hand E1, registered in 2001 in yellow with 2 litre Pinto engine. Joined forum to see what's going on locally and to hopefully get some hints and tips from the experts as the car is in need of some TLC. Who knows might even be ale to contribute something myself!?
Couple of quick questions to start with! 1. What all weather fast road tyres (185/60 R14) would you recommend? 2. The car is "tiger yellow" supposedly, looks it to my untrained eye BUT is there a way of getting some matching spray paint?
Look forward to talking some of you in the near future Chris

Hi Chris welcome.
have a good look at the new "ish" posts you will get a good idea of what we get up to.
There are a bunch of us that go out on runs frequently mostly in north Wales so keep your eye on the forum.
It would be nice to get it up to six of us on runs occasionally!!
we are a friendly bunch (not anoraks)!! so don't be afraid to come out and play.
All the best and lots of flies on ya teeth

Hi , a popular tyre is the Toyo T1R they seem ok for road use . Paint wise I wanted a spray and touch up brush and I had a piece of my bonnet that came from the vents I drilled in the bonnet I took this to a paint shop and they made it up for me ,good match too.

Welcome Chris, as Graham says the only way you'll get matching paint is to get it made up, even if you know the original RAL code yellow seems to fade a lot.On the tyres front I'm leaning towards a set of Yoko A048's when funds allow Toyo 888's are nigh on impossible to find in 14"

Thanks guys! It is currently fitted with yoko advan 032rs. The tread depth is probably at the legal minimum so I was looking for something for the wet cold days of winter (although I think I might have just described our current summer!) I'll give tiger a call about the paint but given the paint job was done by the previous owner a special mix might have to be the answer. Would love to meet up for a run out, I'm sure your not anoraks but im not sure I can persuade the wife of that fact, she thinks I'm turning into one. I'll keep a look out for local runs. Chris
