Just getting the bits together to do a conversion on my clutch , found this info on a ford forum and it looks v good . Just need master and slave cylinders and I've gone for seperate tank to the master cyl. and pipe to connect it all up . The master cyl is connected to the clutch pedal through the bulk head and the slave cyl pushes the clutch fork in the same place as the cable pulls it . Its on a bracket bolted to the gearbox . this is the link : www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?177419-Type-9-hydraulic-clutch-conversion-for-%A312-49!! Graham

A bit of both mate , saw it in that forum item and it looked ok . and I've got a new ratchet for the cable to get a bit more travel on the clutch so I would have had to take the unit apart anyway . So thought I'd do the conversion . You have hyd clutch now ,does your slave cyl go around the input shaft ?

Mine's still cable, never had any problems so kept it that way for simplicity when I changed the pedal box

Oh right , thought you did it when the pedal box went in . It is a bit on the heavy side too and when your stopping in traffic it does give me a pain in the leg . So it should be a lot lighter ,I hope .
I just need to get the pipe and the fittings to connect it all up . just had a cheque off my tax disc refund £55 for 3 months .

Had a few problems in the design stage with this job . this is what I wanted to do . But due to the bulkheads being too close to the gearbox it wont fit so I've come up with this idea . Graham

Had a look at the present clutch cable setup and wanted to see how much movement I had at the clutch fork end .I made a video of it moving www.flickr.com/photos/gpweaver/8442235243/in/photostreamWill you have a look and see if its right to only have this much movement , I have a yellow quadrant fitted .
