Er....how tall is everyone on this site, and what problems, if any, do you have fitting into your respective cars? I'm 6'3" and it's a snug fit in my E1. Would I have been better getting a different model / newer Tiger? Or is there something I can do to fit a little better? My problems revolve around having a steering wheel close to my legs, and not being able to heel and toe, as the s/wheel kinda gets in the way. Help.....

Maybe a cut and re-weld on the pedals? Anyone done this? Know of anyone who can do it? I have a thin seat, so it's not that ...in fact, fitted a runner so my wife can reach the pedals ..she's only 5'4". (What am I saying? Some of YOU may be "only" 5'4")

Would a quick release on the steering wheel help? it will put the wheel closer to your body as it will put another boss between the column and the steering wheel but should give you a bit more room over the top of your legs due to the angle.
Can you change the height of the column, on mine i could re drill holes higher up where column mounts and that would give me more room if i had the same issue, but mine a new avon so not sure how different the mounting position is on an E1.

Thanks for the reply, Phil.... I'll certainly look into it. I don't think there's any room for manoeuvre of the column, but maybe a detachable wheel (perhaps with flat bottom) may help. Braking / using the throttle as separate exercises are no problem. It's just when I need to do both together that my right leg is at a 'sustained' lift, if you get me drift....

Hi, Thought I would let you know how I got round the problem, I am 6ft4 and around 20st, and also have a Tiger Cat E1, when I built it I made sure i had enough leg room around the steering wheel by firstly fitting 2 spacers between where the steering column fits to the chassis, the spacers where around 75mm long, this in turn meant the steering wheel was closer to me and around inch and half higher over my legs. You just need longer bolts to secure them to chassis, also I managed to source a 10" Mountany Steering Wheel which also generates extra space around the knees. I am hoping when I receive my new JK Composite seats that they will add more space, which would be a plus. But I have managed for the last fourteen years driving it without any problems. I will pick a pic of the spacers if you are interested?
Regards Dave

Ahh, one of the benefits of being 5'5" and I get extra storage behind my seat Tony

Following above advice, and a visit to JK Composites, two seats (Strikers) now on order. Complete with upholstery with lime green piping.... These, together with dished detachable wheel may solve the problem. Given that I've removed the air brake windscreen as well, hopefully I will be able to see where I'm going, and heel and toe comfortably at last....
