hi guys. has anyone had any trouble with one of the venturi locking nuts dropping out from the side of carb. iwas under car last night and noticed one on floor. cant understand why this has happened because carbs were supplied from new with engine. as of yet cant get even tick over and its a pig to start dont like messing with them any ideas chaps would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with one of the progression hole cover screws falling out, this caused very rough running. Have you looked at the Webcon site, this is a mine of information on Webber carbs. I am no expert so cannot help with your specific problem. When I had my carbs with the engine I thought that they were of a specific configuration ie jets etc for that engine (in my case 1800 zetec) hooked all the wireing up etc and started ok. After wards I had it set up the rolling road at AB garage at Hawarden, what a difference that made !

:Thanks for your advise mike i was on weber site as you advised , and found it to be brill. so much so, that i have managed to cure problem and seems to run better than ever. venturi lock nut must have been loose all the time they must have had their apprentice on their assembly line. cheers panic over.
