Has anyone done this and will it create any issues. Seen some 7"halogen conversions on ebay for £25 ish.

Hi Dave and welcome. If you have the sealed beam lights like of the old minis etc, then they are only about 35w. The halogen bulbs will be a higher wattage so depending on what your wiring is like (thickness and age) then you may need to wire them through a relay to prevent burning switch/wiring out. The fitment should be the same Hope this helps Steve

Would the standard loom need the relay?. Ta for the tips on the fittings being the same

I changed the whole unit on mine and didn't need relays or the like. That said electrics isn't my strong point Tony

Hi guys, I have also changed my original mini style sealed units and they work fine from the standard tiger wire loom with no required alteration other than a small bit of cable jointing at the light plug connector. Darren

I would guess your wiring is going to be upto standard if it was built in 2005. Are you using sierra stalks? If so, at least you know the switch is going to be ok. Maybe ring tiger and ask them. They should be able to assist one way or another Steve

Dave I had a word with Paul at Tiger and as I thought the loom dosn't need any alterations at all and they sell the same units for £40+vat with the Halogens
