Hi guys...
More advise and help needed. Had my wheels refurbished today by The Wheel Specialist. They did a fine job, but on the drive back, after about a mile or so, I noticed the inside wall of both front tyres was rubbing against the upright for the mudguards, with smoke coming off, and some sidewall being removed! I drove on to my lockup, where the car is now. The wheels are identical offsets, so what has happened, in your experience, before I start a rant at TWS? Thanks

I wonder if you had small wheel spacers on under the wheels and they have been missed off . If they are the same wheels and tyres then that might be the reason .

Yes..same tyres..and same wheels, which had been refurbed in gloss black. Don't think there were spacers..guess I'll go and ask them. The least I can do. (He said, trying to stay cool....)

Are they the same offset? If not then you may have fronts and backs mixed up.

Replaced the front tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1) with Toyo T1-Rs. Better tyres anyway. Also looked like someone had sat on the mudguards and slightly bent the arms. There were no spacers (although spigot rings had to be used to place the rear wheels correctly). Slightly judicial bending, and the fact that the tyre walls are now new and vertical (whereas the Goodyear were a little bulbous) now seems to have corrected things. Must say, The Wheel Specialist Chester were extremely helpful, and did a great job on the wheels themselves....next stop, full respray next week....

Pressure set at 25 psi for now, as the car is still being worked on. It's being resprayed next week, and then JK seats fitted. Photos when it's complete. Graham ..I've sent you a message re sump guard....
