Well, the super 6 was up for MOT today, as it was the only day I could get in before my next 4 shifts at work it had to be done. Anyway the up shot was I got very wet and tigger passed with only an advisory regarding a lower ball joint starting to get play in it.
Take it these are Tiger only?

I've had a look Trev and they do two types, but the one in the link looks the correct one.
Looks easy enough to change too, have you had to do one of these yet?

While we are talking track rod ends and ball joints I have a quick question. Should the top face of the top ball joint be fairly horizontal, or does it not really matter? Reason for asking is that I have noticed one of mine is angled down slightly in a rearwards direction. (Probably about 15-20 degrees). If I slacken off and move it I can't see it altering the camber by very much at all as the pitch of the thread is fine. Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers Pete

Hi Pete I assume this is what you have spoken to Paul at tiger about. What did he have to say? Rick

Hi Rick. Yes that is what I spoke to Paul about. He said that it would be ok at slight angle, and would not have any effect on the suspension or handling of the car. He suggested it may have just been tightened in that position when camber, toe in, etc. was set up. He said to just loosen the lock nut and just align it level and lock it back up, if I felt I wanted it level. As I thought, this amount will have virtually no effect on the camber as the thread pitch is so fine. i.e. if for example the pitch was 1mm then you would have to rotate 360 deg to cause 1mm of cross adjustment, so the amount I would be moving it would be insignificant really. Unfortunately my job is precision engineering so these little things bother me more than they should Cheers Pete
