Tony , Trev what ratio is the rack on your cars ?
Not sure to go for a 2.9 or 2.4 escort quick rack .

G. 2.9 is your standard rack so I would go for a 2.4 like mine
you will soon get use to it.

Hi Trev , the normal road car rack is 3.5 I think .
I have looked at a few the 2.4 are a bit dearer but not sure what the difference would be on our cars 2.9 or 2.4 , would you notice ?

I think mine is 2.2, definitely worth it once you get used to car being a bit more twitchy.
Original racks are Cortina so you need a bracket from Southways to fit escort rack.
I bought the job lot from them simple enough to fit.

New rack came today and the 2 duraflex extreme polyurethane rack clamps , just need the cradle and the extensions and then time to fit it .

Sorry for the late reply but been away. The original Cortina rack is 4 turns lock to lock the escort rack supplied by southways is 2.4 turns lock to lock. Don't know if you guys have seen but southways are planning on putting the supercat project up for sale

Hi guys , I want to make 2 ext for the quick rack conversion . I have the new track rod ends and i want to screw the ext and the rod end together so there in no thread showing , thats ok . The body length on mine are 50mm and I would have thought the hole depth would be same as the TRE

Hi Graham. Mine is screwed and locktite straight into the trackrod end as per instruction from southways and the total length you can see is 50mm as Tony says
