I've just replaced the ball joint covers and would like to do the job properly - unlike the previous owner who had left the top one loose as I discovered when dismantling things!! Does anyone have the torque figures for these bolts, I think someone told me the ball joints are from a Transit?? Thanks Chris

Don't know about torque figure but when I changed mine for last MOT they were still getting movement with a bar under the wheel until we'd tightened the lock nut with a foot long spanner and 2feet of tube so TIGHT ! They're mark 2 or 3 transit both right hand thread

While replacing the ball joint covers I took a look at the front suspension bushes. Whats the general opinion of the state of this one (front o/s if it maters!) Does this have life left in it or do I need to consider this another Winter job! C

Id say with looking at that pic it's starting to perish. Get them changed over winter for polly bushes.

That's what I thought Ade but was hoping someone would disagree :-) Where is a good place to buy them from - ebay?

For a Cat I don't know, its all different on a Super 6.
I take it these are from a Ford donor from which the Cat was built, did they use Sierra parts?

So where did I get the idea that there were Ford Transit bits involved? I'll check out e-bay, I'm guessing the "poly" ones that Ade mentions are the best bet?

The top ball joints are Transit track rod ends
