Looking at options for some more power.
Current setup is 2lt Zetec Blacktop with bike carbs and Megajolt . Megajolt map and carbs were set up for a 1.8Ltr Zetec.
Looking at St170 engine swap with the new chip option to control the VVT for full range control rather the switch a set revs.
Or some work on my engine .... Cams etc
Looking for some feedback and costs involved ...

Hi Jim
I had the same quandary a couple of years ago when I looked into the ST170 option it became too costly there's the cost of the engine itself refitting it the ST170 is a blacktop with VVTI as apposed to the set up I went for 2Lt blacktop Kawasaki ZXSR650 bike carbs with Megajolt 285 Piper cams and stage three gas-flow head this is now producing 205BHP or 174BHP at the wheels with 380pf torque all told £1200 for head £350 for the cams £650 for the carbs A ST170 will give you l55BHP to 164BHP at the fly unless you spend some more dosh.

Instead of an ST 170 engine have you not thought about a MK1 Focus RS engine from a crashed car? With a stage 2 MAP and a Nortec manifold you'll see +330bhp and lots of turbo fun.
If I'd not had a Toyota 4 AGE engine in the car I bought that's the route I'd be going, and may still do.
