Hi Trev , had another thought , If you want to fill the wheel arch and you want to change to new wheels you could get a bigger offset wheel so they come out more . See pic So negative offset is what you need . Graham

Rears will be 245/50/13 and the fronts 205/55/13 Cost £618 I will be going for Avon CR500 Tyre's designed for the Caterham 500. Total £1498.00 ouch! now I've just got to book the kit in for a respray

Hi Trev , just been checking your wheel / tyre sizes against the original size you had . If you had the same as me on the old wheels ie. 205/50/15 then your new sizes are a bit out ,front more than the back see pics Graham

You will be losing 15mm off your ground clearance at the front . It wouldn't be a problem for a track / race car but on the road its a lot to lose .
Just a thought trev .

Thanks G
I've gone through all the calculations and the rears will improve my speedo as I am to big of diameter the fronts are ok too, I have plenty of clearance underneath 15mm is exceptable I tried going for 60's but there is nothing available that will also match the rear..

You should see my ground clearance, Graham. I'm afraid to go over dozing mice, let alone sleeping policemen. If I brake hard, my sumpguard scrapes on the road. Still...it makes me look further ahead for potential hazard.

Paul. We need you at the front of the pack to scrape up all the road kill before we bump over it :/, (bit like a snow plough).

Just playing devils advocate but have you thought about uprated half shafts if you're putting sticky 245's on the end of an axle designed for a 90 horsepower 'tina Wheels look nice though Tony

Didn't think about that Tony, I've already got some uprated trailing arms the other thing is the clutch?
all part of the upgrade I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Well I have finally done it! I have gone for some Force racing 3 peace Billets Bespoke and hand made polished alloy wheels Fronts are 7" 13s with a 2" instep and the rear 9" with a 3" instep 13s staggered look. and here are the bad boys Hope you like them as much as I do. 18 months in the search and finally, well worth the wait and the money! The tyres are Avon Cr500 205/55/13 front and the rears are 245/45/13 Real wide! fills out the rear arches beautifully. After being out on a run today I have to say the tyres are Awesome what a difference from before smoother and the grip is unreal and that's on damp cold roads can't wait til summer. Trev.
