Hi Trev, we will be going for a run tomorrow but i am afraid not to Leeds, the better weather is south so we thought of going to RAF Cosford,or somewhere that way. Have a good day wheel hunting. We had a run to Settle this afternoon would you believe to Watersheds Mill, and a bit of a run round [No Rain] and of course a few pics. image hostphoto uploadimage hostingClive.

Hi Pete It was a good trip, the place he works is a bit of a dump milling machines everywhere alloy twists and a couple of racing Minis Paul would have been wetting himself He was great very helpful and knowledgeable spent three hours with him but in the end came up with two options in design as below the fronts will be 7" with a 2" lip instep and the rears 9" with a 3" lip. Three piece Billets weighing 3.53KGs and 4Kgs so light they started blowing away down the ally he makes them to spec Bespoke. The Bad news is if I go ahead they will be £1350.00 for the set! without tyres!! but Ive been looking for so long I think I will bite the bullet, Ill be going for the bottom one's feller Trev.

Stunning.....gorgeous.......scene stealing..... Bob on, Trev. These would absolutely make your car. The 9" rear tyres will set you back, though....I know from Porsche experience... If I'd seen some Minis there, you're right...it would have been Goodnight Vienna.....

Trev. You get what you pay for nowadays. If they are made to individual order that is why they cost. Machining is what I do so I can appreciate the work that goes into this sort of thing. They look good and presuming he uses quality materials it's probably a fair price. Take into account that they production line ones would probably cost between £500-£1000 for a set. Like Paul says you will probably need a second mortage to fit the rubber on them :/ You will definitely NOT have to drive it like a 'Westie' Pete

I agree with Pete. They are, in fact, not only highly attractive, but even at the price you quote, still good value for what goes into making them. Take a look at the wheels on my Boxster - a new set of four costs £2,500 from Porsche. I hasten to add, I didn't pay anywhere like that for them - I bought them on fleabay, with a set of Michelin Pilot Sports (really good tyres for Porsches) for £250!!! Probably fell off the back of a lorry, but seemed legit...and just needed refurbishing. I have a set of Porsche Turbo alloys on the 911 Targa...and I daren't even think about what they would cost. Again, thank you fleabay.
Buy them, Trev, fit a set of good tyres, and enjoy the envious looks from all of us, and all the Westies and Locust owners out there. Blimey..even Caterham owners would be green with envy. Luvverly Jubberly......

Can I bring everyone back down to planet earth for a minute . Are you going for 13" wheels ? I can't see the 9" fitting on the back with out cutting the arches ,even the supercat XL is only designed for 7" wheels max . 7" on the front will give you reduced turning unless you have a large offset on the wheel to move it out ,then your putting more load on the wheel bearings and the struts etc. Your smiths wheel have a larger offset than standard same as mine did , are they 7" Trev ?
Have you gone through and the data for this upgrade ?
Graham

Hi Paul That,s the problem the tyres!
I've looked on the net for the 235/50/15 for the rear and all that comes up are the Proxy R888's and Deamon tweeks sell them at £395 for 2 the fronts will be £268.......£663.00
I really am having second thoughts just under two grand mate.

Mm..I did worry about the loadings on bearings with 9", but guessd you'd get the right offset. I've seen 9" wheels on Westies, so know it's possible...Graham has a point. That's a lot of money. Get some good Minilite replicas instead. Always look the business...

Hi G
They will be 15's feller 13's will be too small with the tyre range available
my wheels are 7" G so no problem for the bearings the rears at the moment sit inside the wheel arches by 2.5" with the wheels being made for my car all the measurements are for the car so the off set etc. doesn't come into it in the conventional way but all in all it looks a bit too expensive..
