Just a thought, is the outer cable cover attached at the clutch end. Had seen a similar problem when the clutch cable would not "pull"as the outer cover was not through the stop hole at the bellhousing end.(if that makes sense). Regards Mike

Sorry if this is silly, but have you set the clutch. I.e. get someone to press the clutch pedal down, insert something solid (like the handle of a hammer) into the gap in the bell housing and then get your help to gently lift release the clutch pedal until you hear a couple of clicks. With the engine running try selecting a gear. Mine needs two clicks from a complete reset but I guess it may be different depending on tolerances.

Cool, glad it worked, not sure about your reverse gear though!
As a warning be careful you dont put your foot behind the clutch pedal and hook it with your foot, this resets the clutch, not good if you are far from home!! I found this out the hard way, luckily I managed to find some kind soul to help me set it again!
You can get round this though. On my cat there is a chassis rail that passes about 5mm in front of the clutch cable (near the top), at a meet I saw that someone else had taped a couple of washers to the chassis rail thus stopping the clutch pedal being pulled forward, I tried it on mine and it seems to work.

Had same problem as Dave with shoe pulling clutch pedal back, by hold the quadrant with a screwdriver and pushing down on clutch pedal I was able to adjust (I dont have a cover over the pedals so could set it myself) To cure this I cable tied a piece of three ply cut to the same size as the chassis rail on the engine side and this has solved the problem.
