Can anyone help me identifying these carbs - they were part of the package when I bought the car. The owner said his next job would have been to fit them!? (hopefully these show up OK, first time with Postimage.org after Clive's recommendation........) Assuming I can use them......if you have any ideas or have seen other threads about changing from 'standard' twin choke Webers to these please let me know

Hi Chris, They look like Mikuni bike carbs of a Kawasaki ZX6r. If you want to bring them round and compare them with the ones on my motor. Pete

Last pic confused me until I realised carbs are upside down After comparing them to mine I was sure Pete was right then read ZX6R written on the float chamber CSC do the whole lot as a kit so should be good for any info you need Tony

Ah, just thought I'd need a new bonnet as the Webers have a big hole cut in the top of the bonnet for the air filter. Anyone know where I can get a bonnet for an E1 ? C

Chris. It may be worth giving a call to Southways. They are trying to sell all their Supercat stuff off. Never know they may have a bonnet lying around. Just give me a call when you want to have a shufty at the carbs Pete

Hi Chris. Tiger Racing have got a bonnet and nosecone off a B6, in their bargain basement section, going for £60. Don't know if these fit the Cat but may be worth ringing Paul and asking the question. Pete

Chris , are you using the standard pedal box , if so then you need a bonnet with the bump that goes over the brake bottle . just a thought .

Cheers Graham, yes it is a standard box I'll bear that in mind I seem to recall there is a thread somewhere here where you made your own inlet manifold? Did you build your own simply because you could or are good ones hard to come by? Looking at the manifold that came with the car and carbs I have several questions about it. Such as why is one of the ports angled, what are the large holes just about visible in the first photo that the last person had plugged with over long bolts (well three of them anyway!), how difficult is it to re-centre the carbs for this manifold...... If anyone can shed light on these points please feel free! C

HI Chris , I made my own to try and get a better alignment with the carbs and also keep the distance from head to carbs as short as poss To keep them under the bonnet , I bought a steel plate for a pinto and then made a jig to hold carbs and plate and then worked out angles and pipe to join the two . Tacked it together then got a welder at work to seam weld it . Are you going to use the carbs on your car ? I had to get new gasket seals for the float bowls and new rubber diaphragms for the slide valves on mine . Also you need either a bike fuel pump or a regulator valve to keep pressure at 2-2.5 psi
